From a nine-year-old falling in love with motorsport to chasing the F1 dream.
I fell in love with motorsport when I was just a nine-year-old. All I wanted to do was make my country proud, and I have managed to do just that in the 14 years of my racing career. Being one of the youngest racers in the country, especially a girl, every win has only helped me prove my prowess on the track and has taken me a step closer to my dream of competing at F1.
Like the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji once said, “From sports, we learn sportsman spirit and that acts as a lubricant in our social life. More than winning, sports helps you to learn to deal with defeats.” I have also learnt the spirit of a sportsperson on the tracks and treated both victories and losses just the same.
At the same time, I have never shied away from a competition and have always taken a challenge head on. To be the first Indian woman Formula 1 driver and represent the country at various international races, bringing glory to the tricolor is all I endure. I want to stand on the podium and listen to the national anthem as the flag is unfurled.
“Every sportsperson has a starting point but I believe in raising my own bar each time I take the wheel.”
